Record of foreign corporations entering Alabama, 1907-1919.

Foreign corporations were required to register with the State Auditor and pay a fee to do business in the state (Code of Ala., 1907, Sec. 3647 and 3648). The corporations were required to register the name of the corporation, the state where incorporated, where in Ala. it would do business, its authorized agent in Ala., amount of authorized capital, and the amount of capital to be employed in Ala. The Secretary of State's Corporations Division maintained a duplicate copy of these records.
